Now Hiring — Part-Time Firefighters

Peyton Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Firefighter positions.
Peyton FPD is looking for motivated, dependable, and community-minded firefighters interested in joining our team and serving the Peyton community. These positions are a great opportunity for firefighters looking to gain additional experience, stay active in the fire service, or supplement their current fire service employment with a flexible part-time schedule.
Part-Time Schedule
Part-time personnel will work 12-hour daytime shifts from 0800–2000 hours.
Scheduling is designed around your availability, with opportunities to work up to four shifts per month. This provides flexibility for firefighters who may already work another department schedule, attend school, have family commitments, or simply want to remain active in the fire service without taking on a full-time position.
Peyton Fire Protection District serves a rural community with a lower call volume than many larger departments. This environment provides an opportunity to serve the community, maintain operational skills, participate in training, and gain experience while working alongside a dedicated team.

Volunteering with Peyton FPD
Peyton Fire Protection District has a long tradition of service built upon the dedication of volunteers who have answered the call to serve their community. Since the District’s formation, volunteers have played a critical role in supporting emergency response operations, community outreach, training, administrative functions, and other essential services.
As Peyton FPD expands its use of part-time paid personnel, volunteers will continue to be an important part of the District and its service to the community.
Volunteering with a fire protection district requires dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing training and personal development. Opportunities may include operational emergency response positions, support services, community outreach, administrative assistance, and other volunteer roles based upon the needs of the District.
The District is currently reviewing and updating volunteer program requirements, policies, and application procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and District standards.
Additional information regarding volunteer opportunities, position requirements, training expectations, and application procedures will be posted as it becomes available.
We appreciate the continued support of our volunteers, employees, community members, and partners who help make emergency services possible throughout the Peyton community.
